Organisation profile

Frontpage

Functional analysis is the fundamental framework for modelling and analysis of a wide range of problems in classical engineering disciplines.

We concentrate our research effort on

  • optimal design
  • variational methods and PDEs (linear and non-linear)
  • approximation theory (frames and wavelets)
  • inverse problems

Application fields

Functional analysis is applied to a wide range of fields

  • telecommunication and signal analysis
  • robust control and distributed parameter systems
  • biomedical engineering
  • tomography and image processing
  • optimal design applied to aircraft design and car industry
